ARTISTIC APPROACH

Tibo's approach is based on the concept of decomposition and reconstruction, one must break to be able to rebuild oneself. She launches into painting by inventing a disorganized and unified universe, where several aspects of reality are reflected.

Like an image maker, Tibo paints possible worlds. Like an illuminator, she colors vividly, bringing the reality of shapes and color to the whims of her imagination.

For several years, Tibo worked as a manager in the health network. Inspired by her own autobiography, her works are metaphors that express the scope of this reality. From one medium to another, she invents her poetry.

After a parenthesis devoted to the figurative, during the 80s, Tibo's practice is now inspired by an abstract pictorial practice. His painting is filled with mortar, various inclusions and adorned with allusive forms, mobility in the work settles in.

Working on cameos carried by a range of grays and beiges, Tibo's palette leads her, beyond her subject, towards an imaginary world that a great sensuality lightens from the constraints of creation. She covers her canvas with a very dense dominant color, then this undercoat is completely covered, the shades blend into a cameo. From there, Tibo can begin to paint by adding or subtracting material. By scratching with the most diverse tools, she paints just as much as with brushes and paintbrushes. Each roughness, each stripe is a unique pattern as much as it allows her to blend into a much more global and abstract dimension.

Tibo claims the importance of the imagination and the pleasure of discovery. Painting should not be a simple object of consumption and immediate pleasure, immediately consumed, immediately rejected... It deserves better. The spectator must make the effort to find, to create if necessary, the path that leads him to the work, before experiencing the happiness of living with it.

Tibo places his practice in a tradition of research in contemporary painting, a fertile field of experimentation where the emergence of new forms is always possible.
